Case 2: Assisting companies in implementing TNFD innovative services
In addition to carbon issues, biodiversity is also becoming a global focus. In response to the urgent demands of regulators and investors, the globally endorsed and science-based initiative, "Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures" (TNFD) was established with government support. Announced on July 21, 2020, by 74 organizations from the biological, financial, corporate, and governmental sectors, TNFD released its official Version 1.0 on September 18, 2023. The goal of TNFD is to enhance transparency regarding nature-related financial risks and to integrate nature into financial and business decision-making. Environmental aspects covered include not only climate change and carbon management but also biodiversity, pollution, land and water resource use, and other complex ecosystem operations. Since the formation of its working group in June 2021, TNFD has been driving organizations to assess the impact of their operations on natural capital from a human behavior perspective. TNFD ensures its framework's comprehensiveness and compatibility with TCFD, establishing integrated assessment methods for climate and nature-related financial risks.
Veda Business Group assists companies in understanding nature-related material topics, identifying nature-related risks and opportunities. Through TNFD risk assessment services using the LEAP (Locate, Evaluate, Analyze, Prepare) process, we comprehensively assess nature-related risks and opportunities within the value chain. By conducting TNFD risk assessments, companies can enhance their awareness of nature-related risks and opportunities, reduce the negative impacts of these risks, and increase resilience against them. Additionally, companies can seize nature-related opportunities to explore new business development spaces, achieve harmonious coexistence with nature, and expand possible sustainable development models.

The theme of the 9th Taiwan Sustainability Report Analysis Conference: "Brave Advancement"
Humanity faces increasingly severe challenges.Climate change brings disasters, geopolitical issues disrupt supply chains, energy imbalances, and global inflation impacts all economic layers. This might seem like the worst of times, with people caught in turmoil, strife, and uncertainty. Yet, it is also the best of times, where we can build resilience amidst change and continue to move forward despite the disruptions. True sustainability is not a commitment made lightly. The worst times can lead to the best outcomes. In times of upheaval, we must recognize the direction and circumstances, embrace change, and advance bravely.
The content of this year’s conference included new indicators focused on net-zero targets, biodiversity, and natural capital management disclosure, and introduced the new CSRone sustainability rating system. The event featured four main agendas: discussing the opportunities and challenges brought by sustainability ratings, distinguishing between ESG transparency and greenwashing, and focusing on transformation issues such as energy transition and technology-driven sustainability management. In a rapidly changing environment and evolving sustainability knowledge, the conference aimed to integrate international pioneers' perspectives into the local market, embracing change and advancing boldly on the path of sustainability transformation with partners.
